Glycerin - An Amazing Ingredients for Healthy and Shiny Hair

David Dickson727 03-Oct-2019

If you look at the ingredient listings on the bath and body products you have in your home, you will notice glycerin is in an awfully high amount of the products. Basically anything that has moisturizing effects will have glycerin as a key ingredient. It is one of the most important products to soften and moisturize your skin. It also acts as a cleaning agent for everything from makeup to paintbrushes. One of the most prominent uses of glycerin is on the scalp. Here we'll discuss the benefits of putting the product directly onto your hair, a beauty secret that many people are unaware of.

Glycerin - Covered or Uncovered

First and foremost, when dealing with glycerin, be sure to keep the product closed. It draws moisture from the air, so if you keep it uncovered, you will likely be dealing with a product that is partially water instead of pure glycerin.

Do You Have Fussy, Curly or Damaged Hair?

Most of the individuals use glycerin for hair growth. If you are the type of person who has dry, curly or damaged hair, the application directly on the follicles will help draw moisture and condition hair that otherwise doesn't take to over-the-counter conditioners that mix multiple ingredients with varied success. The glycerin will repair split ends and also absorb into the scalp if you have a dry or flaky scalp. After application, your hair will flow smooth and luxuriously.

Method to Apply

So how do you apply glycerin directly to your hair? There are many options, but I recommend applying approximately thrice a week. It is important for your hair to retain its natural oils, so applying any sort of conditioner or shampoo every day will cause problems for your hair. It's best when mixed with some water, so apply as you would any hair care product in the shower or bath.

Mix Glycerin with Aloe Vera or Lavender Oil and Do Wonders

For even better results, mix glycerin with aloe vera and lavender oil in a bottle. If the fragrance or thickness is too much, dilute with water. This mixture will repair your follicles, and give you a healthy shine. Remember, if mixing pure concentrated oils, be sure to use only a small amount on the hair. Many shampoo/conditioners that you find at your beauty supply store are diluted and mixed. If you make your own, you are dealing with a much stronger hair application. Be gentle and test the effects on your hair a few times to see how much you will need. Everyone reacts differently to different products, so keep that in mind when making your own beauty products. You may find that pure glycerin without aloe vera or lavender oil works best on your hair, or you may find that it works best when heavily diluted. Furthermore, you can specialize in the product with your favorite fragrance oil. Your hair will smell great and look incredibly healthy.

Glycerin is sold in many places, but try and find a grade vegetable glycerin as it will have the best quality. Low-grade glycerin is sold all over the place but can contain harmful additives that will not give you the results you are looking for. Find a supplier that specializes in selling chemicals and cosmetic ingredients such as glycerin, citric acid, propylene glycol, etc. So you will be sure to get the right product!
